VIRGIN SURFACE

Twice a day
The sea ebbs and flows
Cleansing the beach
Annihilating peak and depression
Signs of human contact
Footprints, tracks
Leaving a
blank canvas

Meanwhile
We go about our
Self-important
Lives
Ambitions
Power games
Acquiring wealth / status

The earth turns
The moon rotates
The sea ebbs and flows.
I agonise over words said
Become anxious of what might happen
Dwell on what might have been

But twice a day
The beach starts

Afresh.
