I liked him immediately. Government Cutbacks. i added he grinned. a shared hatred of 1990ís economic rationalism christ it was cold he got on the 2way bad reception he said hop in the giant truck swallowed my daughter and me we drove to the top of the hill behind the quarry he called Base, gave my details to some office bloke in stirling who rang the RAA. Then he lit up drew in the smoke put out his rough meaty hand Peter Hornby. rob walker i replied. we talked about councils, the CFS, ash wednesdays. he reminded me of chips rafferty. just a bit And i thought with all the pennypinching politicians the dog-anus mouthed bureaucrats and the oíconnell st cappuccino set we need more peters
