juniper berries

i smile. she missed one. i put
the juniper berry back in its place.
i owe the juniper berries so much.
they hide in my corners and protect
me from storms.

a little girl found them once. she
asked, "what are these?" i told her.
she said, "oh." and played with
them at her pretend tea-party and
made them into tea, then carefully
put them back.

now the protection from storms is
inside her. i smile. again.

perhaps i should make myself
some tea. real? or pretend???

Comments: I put some juniper berries into oil- plucking them from dankened soil-later on in a saute- their flavor imparted the month of May-
Though I found their flavor rare- for the taste- I did not care-
