Whispering

Sway, silently flutter
    the frail leaves
Bamboo in motion
    vibrant in the cool
       sweep of sunset

A lullaby in a prayer
     kissing the shadows
          of the sun
Dear love I linger here
   shaded by the
       liquidambar
Tall and victorious
Cooling the day
  and me
     caught in the silence

The earth's music
        catches the leaves
Assails my gentle emotions
Soothing, seducing --
    it whispers, whispers
          your wish
Caught in the green blue
       moment

Bamboo leaves and aquamarine
   blue waters -- deep
And the sounds so quietly
    catching my thoughts
And I sway in harmony
    with the shadows
Leaves in perpetual movement
And your love captured there
