Red Ball  1. Shopping/Browsing  Red Ball

  Australia

Overview

I have tried to set up a simple & small system that allows a lot of flexibility without any pressure of instant transfers of money from those shopping for good music. This means that any commitment by you as a prospective customer is delayed to the last option, and you are provided with editing facilities on your shopping lists along the way.

You don't even have to transmit across the internet if it worries you, simply print your selected items and mail it to me (air-mail please) to retain the maximum security on your private details. I have tried to keep the pages narrow enough so that the pages will print on most standard paper widths.

Please let me know if I have succeeded in my web setup, AND eMail me if there is anything that you think that I can improve on.

Browser Requirements

Unfortunately the shopping pages make use of Frames presentation and if your browser cannot handle Frames, then I implore you to upgrade to a browser that will handle it. Either Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4 or 5) or Netscape Navigator will handle this with ease.

Shopping/Browsing

Let's start in the catalogue section.

The catalogue will look something like the sample below, where I have listed albums grouped by the Artist(s), with a comment occasionally and of course, the prices for either a Cassette or a CD. If any Cassette or CD column has an "n/a" in it instead of a button, it simply means that this album is not available in that medium.

Shopping Catalogue

The centre of the screen will scroll up and down (great for those with those wheel mouses) to present the entire list.

To Select a Cassette or CD, simply click on the corresponding button in the appropriate column. A confirmation display will appear, giving a brief description of the selection and requires you to click on the "OK" button before adding it to the Shopping Basket.

Confirmation Button

If you change your mind, there is an option to remove any or all selections from the Shopping Basket at any time. We will discuss this feature in the next section ("Shopping Basket" along the bottom edge of the screen).

Contents of the Catalogue

This section will be continually be updated as particular albums gain in demand as others lessen, keeping the list to about 80 to 120 albums. I have no intention of listing every album available since this page loads slowly enough as it is (approximately 20-30 seconds). If you have been to this site before, then you should use the REFRESH button even before the catalogue listing appears so that you are looking at the latest version of the catalogue.

In the catalogue, I've only included the top-selling and better-known artists; and only some of their albums. As you buy and become familiar with their styles, you will no doubt wish to eMail me requiring further details of which I will gladly supply.

I also do not provide reviews of any artists as your musical tastes are just that - yours. I find that a lot of reviewers seem to be biased and very self-opinionated. Having said that, I will say that any of the albums listed can be bought with the confidence that they represent some of the best we have to offer in their respective fields.

Making a Request

Yes, we do take requests. If the artist or song you want is not listed, eMail me and I'll give the matter my immediate attention. Please bear in mind that although country music is my speciality, I have access to ALL genres of Australian music.

Also there are a lot of Australian releases of American country artists on our catalogues which have been deleted overseas,  so do not hesitate to ask about any hard-to-get items!

Please note that there are some links to the Artist's Biographies within the Shopping List
